1. Our promise
ClearHormones Editorial sends email only to people who have asked for it. We comply with:
- CAN-SPAM Act (15 U.S.C. §§7701-7713, US)
- CASL (Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, S.C. 2010, c. 23)
- GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679, Article 7 — explicit consent)
- UK PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003)
2. How we collect email addresses
- Direct opt-in: you enter your email through a form on our site (newsletter, lead-magnet download, save-quiz-results). We never pre-tick consent boxes.
- Double opt-in (where deployed): after submitting, you receive a confirmation email with a verify link. Your address is added to the list only after you click verify.
- Affiliate partner referral:if a partner forwards your name and email (e.g. you opted in through a partner's telehealth signup flow), we require the partner to attest to explicit consent and provide their consent record. We honor opt-outs immediately.
3. What we DO NOT do
- We do not buy, rent, or harvest email lists.
- We do not scrape email addresses from forum posts, social media, or public listings.
- We do not add anyone to our list without explicit opt-in.
- We do not use deceptive subject lines or sender names.
- We do not hide the unsubscribe link in fine print.
- We do not sell or rent our subscriber list to anyone.
4. Sender identification
Every email we send includes:
- Honest “From”, “Reply-To”, and “Sender” headers identifying ClearHormones Editorial
- Subject line that accurately describes the message content
- Postal address per CAN-SPAM §7704(a)(5):
Editorial-only operation; registered office address pending incorporation - One-click unsubscribe link (RFC 8058 List-Unsubscribe header included)
- Plain-text alternative for HTML emails
5. Unsubscribing
Three ways to unsubscribe at any time:
- Click the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email we send.
- Use the one-click List-Unsubscribe header (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail show this automatically).
- Email [email protected] with subject “Unsubscribe”.
We process unsubscribes within 10 business days (CAN-SPAM § 7704(a)(4) requires within 10 days). In practice we typically process within 24 hours. After unsubscribing, you may continue to receive transactional emails (such as a confirmation of unsubscription).
6. Frequency
Our standard newsletter is weekly (Sunday digest). Topic-specific lists (HRT, GLP-1, PCOS) follow the same weekly cadence. We do not send promotional emails more than once per week per subscriber.
7. Reporting abuse
If you receive email that appears to be from us but you did not subscribe, report it to [email protected] with the full email headers. We will:
- Investigate within 2 business days
- Remove your address from all lists
- Disclose how the address ended up on our list (if traceable)
- Terminate any affiliate partnership found to be source of unauthorized signups
8. Affiliate partners and shared sender practices
Affiliate partners using their own email lists to promote our content (or vice versa) must comply with this policy and provide written attestation of explicit consent for any names shared. Violations are grounds for immediate partnership termination and list deletion.
9. Reporting to authorities
US recipients may report violations to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov. EU recipients may report to their national Data Protection Authority. Canadian recipients may report to the CRTC at fightspam.gc.ca.
