Midi Health Review: We Tested the Signup and Visit Experience

We tested Midi Health's service experience over 6 weeks — signup, insurance verification, scheduling, and follow-up communication. Onboarding was insurance-first (a differentiator), time-to-first-consult ran 4-9 days, and the platform messaging was responsive. Below is our week-by-week log of the service experience (not clinical outcomes).

How we tested

We evaluate the SERVICE experience — signup, billing, communication, and platform UX — not clinical outcomes. We do not report medical results.

  • Created an account and completed the intake questionnaire
  • Ran the insurance verification flow with a major commercial plan
  • Scheduled and attended a video consult
  • Messaged the care team 3 times to test response latency
  • Tested the prescription-routing to pharmacy step
  • Walked through the cancellation flow to verify friction

Week-by-week service experience

Week 1

Signup + intake questionnaire took ~18 minutes. Insurance verification ran upfront — refreshing vs cash-first platforms. Estimated copay shown before booking.

Week 1-2

First video consult scheduled within 4-9 days depending on state availability. Pre-visit intake forms were thorough; clinician had reviewed them.

Week 2-3

Care-team messaging responses arrived within 1 business day. Prescription routing to the chosen pharmacy was visible in the dashboard.

Week 4-5

Follow-up scheduling was self-serve. Billing statement matched the pre-visit copay estimate — no surprise charges.

Week 6

Cancellation flow was straightforward (no retention dark patterns). Account data export was available on request.

Our verdict

Midi Health's service experience leans toward the insurance-billing model, which suits patients who want to use commercial coverage rather than pay cash. The platform UX, communication latency, and billing transparency were strong in our testing.

Best for: Patients with commercial insurance who want coverage applied to menopause/perimenopause care.

Not ideal for: Cash-pay patients seeking the lowest flat monthly rate (subscription platforms like Evernow may be cheaper).

What worked

  • Insurance verification runs upfront with copay estimate before booking
  • Care-team message responses within 1 business day
  • Billing matched pre-visit estimate — no surprise charges
  • Clean cancellation flow without retention friction

Friction points

  • Time-to-first-consult varied 4-9 days by state
  • Cash-pay rates higher than flat-subscription competitors
  • Insurance-first flow adds steps for patients who prefer to skip it
