Labs to request for fertility planning — baseline ovarian reserve, cycle hormone patterns, and rule-outs.

What labs to request

  • AMH (anti-müllerian hormone) — ovarian reserve marker
  • FSH + LH on cycle day 2–5
  • Estradiol cycle day 2–5
  • Progesterone cycle day 21 (or 7 days post-ovulation if irregular)
  • TSH (thyroid affects fertility)
  • Prolactin (high prolactin suppresses ovulation)
