What the Menopause Matcher does

The Menopause Matcher is a rule-based quiz that ranks the menopause and HRT telehealth providers already listed on clearhormones.com against the answers you give. It is not a diagnostic test and not a machine-learning model. You answer seven short questions, the tool scores each active provider in its database with a fixed set of weighted rules, and it returns up to three that fit your answers best. No account or email is needed to see the results.

The seven inputs are: which symptoms you have (nine options, from hot flashes and brain fog to low libido and joint pain), your age range, your period status, your US state, your treatment preference (FDA-approved bioidentical, compounded bioidentical, either, or non-hormonal), your monthly budget, and how soon you want to start. Your age range alone sets the stage wording the tool shows you, from early perimenopause through postmenopause. Your period-status answer is collected but does not change that label or affect the ranking, and neither answer diagnoses anything.

Each of the three matches comes back with a point score, a short list of reasons it matched (for example, offers FDA-approved bioidentical hormones, fits your budget, treats several of your symptoms), any mismatch notes (over budget, no insurance accepted), its starting price and whether it accepts insurance, and links to the full review and to the provider. If nothing scores high enough, you see a plain 'no strong match' message instead of a padded list.

How to read your result

The score shown next to each provider is a sum of weighted points, not a percentage, a star rating, or a quality grade. It measures fit to your specific answers, so a provider that ranks first for you might not rank first for someone in another state or budget band. A provider must reach a minimum of 50 points to appear at all; when no provider clears that bar you get the 'no strong match' result, which the tool attributes to a gap between your state, budget, and treatment preference.

Read the match and mismatch bullets, not just the number — they explain why a provider placed where it did. Some factors eliminate a provider outright and drop its score to zero: it is not licensed in your state, it does not serve menopause or HRT, it is not currently operating, or it has an FDA warning letter on record. This is why the same quiz can return entirely different providers when you change your state.

Treat the output as a shortlist to research, not an instruction. Confirm coverage, current pricing, and what your insurance actually pays on the provider's own site, and take any treatment question — especially whether hormone therapy is right for you — to a prescriber. The links here are navigational and affiliate-supported; they help you compare providers, they do not sell or prescribe anything.

What the result is based on

Results are computed entirely from clearhormones.com's own provider records — only brands marked active are considered. For each one the tool reads structured fields: the US states it lists as available, its categories, whether it offers branded or compounded medications, its starting price, whether it accepts insurance, its listed symptom coverage, an internal quality score, and its prescribing method. There is no external dataset, no live search, and no clinical validation behind the ranking.

Scoring is a fixed weighted formula. In its default configuration the largest weights go to serving menopause/HRT and being licensed in your state, followed by treatment-preference match and budget fit; each symptom a provider covers adds a few points, insurance acceptance and the internal quality score contribute, and choosing 'start ASAP' rewards providers that prescribe asynchronously. These weights and the 50-point threshold live in a server setting and can be adjusted, so the exact math may differ from the defaults.

What it cannot tell you

• It can only rank providers that clearhormones.com already lists and has marked active. A good provider that is not in the database, or one temporarily marked inactive, cannot appear no matter how well it would fit you.
• The state filter is a yes/no check against each provider's listed 'states available' field. If that field is out of date, a provider that recently expanded may be missed, or one that left your state may still show.
• Budget matching compares only each provider's advertised starting price. It does not know your actual plan cost, dosage, add-on fees, lab charges, or what your insurance will really pay — an 'accepts insurance' flag is treated as a likely low out-of-pocket cost, not a quote.
• Your period-status answer is collected but not used: it does not change the stage label the tool shows or the provider ranking, which come from your age range and the other answers.
• It cannot assess whether hormone therapy or any treatment is safe or appropriate for you. It never sees contraindications, personal or family medical history, medications, or lab work, so it applies no clinical safety logic.
• The default weights and the 50-point minimum can be reconfigured on the server, so the precise ranking and cutoff a live visitor experiences may not match the defaults described here.
