Boots Online Doctor is the online consultation arm of Boots, a long-established UK high-street pharmacy chain. Its menopause / HRT service lets eligible patients request treatment online after a clinical assessment.
It is a private service: fees for the consultation and any medicine are set by Boots and are separate from NHS prescription charges. Treatment is issued as a private prescription and dispensed by the pharmacy.
The same category of treatment — standard HRT — is available on the NHS via your GP, usually at a lower cost (NHS prescription charge in England, or free elsewhere in the UK).
