Amenorrhea

The absence of menstrual periods, either never starting or stopping for several months.

Amenorrhea is the absence of menstrual periods. Primary amenorrhea is when periods never begin by the expected age; secondary amenorrhea is when established periods stop for several months.

Causes range from pregnancy and PCOS to thyroid problems and primary ovarian insufficiency, so it is evaluated by a clinician.
