Estrogen

A group of sex hormones (chiefly estradiol, estrone, and estriol) central to female reproductive health.

Estrogen is a family of hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle and influence bone, vaginal, and cardiovascular tissue. The main forms are estradiol, estrone, and estriol.

A decline in estrogen during the menopause transition underlies many menopausal symptoms and is the target of menopausal hormone therapy.
