Estradiol vaginal cream is contraindicated in pregnancy. It is intended for postmenopausal genitourinary symptoms, not for use during the reproductive years when pregnancy is possible.

Vaginal estradiol treats genitourinary symptoms and is most often prescribed after menopause. If you are using it in late perimenopause, remember that local estrogen is not contraception: pregnancy remains possible until menopause is confirmed.
